DDFSC STARSkate Program
Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition - this is what STARSkate is about!
STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and artistic skating. Unique to Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.
STAR 4 – 6
(Formerly Intermediate)
STAR 4 - 6 is also a STAR program at a more advanced level which also follows Skate Canada STARSkate guidelines. Skaters will have completed all of the Star 3 tests to move into this level. This program was formerly known as Intermediate. In this level, skaters start to develop independent skating practice, as the program is a mix of group coaching, which is included in your registration and private group lessons with coaches, which is billed directly to skaters. Skaters skate three (3) nights per week, for a total of 170 minutes. Ice time is a mix of independent and blended session ice.
