Skating qualifications: Gold Dance, Gold Skills, Senior Bronze FreeSkate

 

My love for skating goes back to my childhood, I grew up skating with the Drayton Skating Club. My parents took me out of skating for 1 year to try Dance, and ultimately, my love for skating prevailed and I quickly returned to the ice the next season and have not left since. 

Being able to step on the ice and share my passion for the sport is what drives me to continue to coach. Seeing the skaters succeed, gain confidence in their skills, and the excitement and joy when they pass a test and even through failure, lessons are learned and perseverance grows. Sports teach us a lot of life lessons that are transferrable on and off the ice. My hope for my skaters is the come to skating with determination, dedication, and the drive to succeed, and when they don't they get back up and try again. 

 

When I am not on the ice, I for IMAX as the Senior Manager, HRBP for the Streaming and Consumer Technology division. My passion for coaching and mentoring translates well between my full-time job and my passion for coaching figure skating.
